By now the market was so saturated with Beatles product that Leeds, the publisher of Beatles music in Australia, instructed the Australian Performing Rights Association to restrict performance of this single until 23 April, and instructed EMI (Australia) not to release the single until 30 April. Leeds Music exercised similar control a number of times over the next few years. Advance orders for the single were well in excess of 50,000 copies.

Deleted in June 1968, the single would not be reissued until 1982, where in June it was recut (both sides in stereo) at Studios 301 by Otto Ruiter for inclusion in the Australian 20th Anniversary Singles Collection. It subsequently went out of print again before returning on 7 December 1987.
