With no new UK single on the horizon, EMI (Australia) drew inspiration from the US, who weren't quite as constrained insofar as issuing Beatles product. Capitol had issued this coupling the previous month, and EMI (Australia) no doubt had hopes that it would be as successful here as it was there.

Deleted in December 1968, the single would not be reissued until 1982, where in June it was recut (both sides in stereo) at Studios 301 by Otto Ruiter for inclusion in the Australian 20th Anniversary Singles Collection. It subsequently went out of print again before returning on 7 December 1987.
