Overview
Issued in Australia in 1980 as Polystar 9198 494, The Golden Years 10 continued the numbered series of compilations drawn from PolyGram’s catalogue. Its selection included The Statler Brothers and Dusty Springfield, with The Beatles represented by 'Ain’t She Sweet', the third track on side two.

Featuring John Lennon on lead vocal, 'Ain’t She Sweet' was recorded in Hamburg in June 1961 during the sessions with Tony Sheridan, although Sheridan does not perform on the track. The song was one of two recordings The Beatles made in their own right at those sessions, alongside 'Cry for a Shadow', which appeared on The Golden Years 9. These consecutive volumes therefore featured both of the group’s standalone performances from the sessions, drawing on the early recordings available to PolyGram.
