'Sample Record - Not For Sale' printed on rear cover

Overview
The first Rarities album issued in Australia arrived as the additional attraction in The Beatles Collection. Following the British selection, it gathered recordings outside the twelve original albums included in the box.

For Australian collectors, that created an awkward proposition: officially, obtaining the new disc meant buying the complete collection. EMI (Australia) never issued this version separately, even though many potential buyers already owned the accompanying albums or simply did not want them.

Some retailers found a practical solution by breaking up the boxes and putting Rarities on sale individually. These shop-separated copies explain why the album could be purchased on its own despite having no official standalone Australian release.

The Australian LP was mastered at Studios 301 using Maxicut.
